Alaina Suddeth is child of Kristy Suddeth (Rossville, Georgia) and J. J. Suddeth. She was born in Rossville in Georgia. Her father works as a Chattanooga process engineer. Her first public performances followed by a choir for children and the annual holiday spot which provided Karaoke. She sang in church and restaurants, as well as holidays with family and any other gathering within a 30-mile radius of the place she resided. Alaina was the winner of her first Southern Stars Pageant talent contest aged 8. In the following year, she was chosen to take part on the Kids talent stage at the Chattanooga Riverbend Festival. Alaina's cousin Holly Witherow was diagnosed with brain cancer. This led her to sing. Prior to Idol, Alaina worked at CiC's Pizza. She was a student at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School located in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, where she participated in the cheerleading team.
